Beacon Independency Center, formerly known as RENEW, is a local grassroots non-profit that has been in the community since 1972. Our company was founded by families who desired to see their loved ones know a full life. Those families worked with choice professionals and care givers to develop an organization to fulfill that vision. BIC continues to walk out that vision today.

We have the privilege of working with very special persons with disABILITIES. It is our purpose to provide services that will enrich their lives, as well as provide the tools for them to achieve the highest level of personal autonomy. See the Able not the Label!
BIC services are designed based on the individual’s needs. Your loved one matters most.  Individuals do not need to be defined by their disability.

At BEACON, we strive to be the best we can be and take pride in achieving high standards.  We support opportunities to grow and learn.  We have the will to try and the courage to change.  We concentrate on nurturing ability, accomplishment, and potential.  We empower individual growth and development in
every service provided, and we have proven success.  We value our individual’s families’ participation as we plan for their loved ones’ future needs.  We ensure that family members remain involved,
advocating, planning, and supporting future goals and wishes.

A lot has changed for us over the past few years in how we provide services. Our focus has been to engage our “Participants” with a higher level of community integration and inclusion in order to live full and active lives. Through the response of families, state entities, and CARF our journey continues to be successful.
