BEACON is committed to the independence, support, and advocacy of the participants, whether in a residential setting, day habilitation setting, or community. The Day services program emphasizes individual preferences and community participation by providing various activities that enhance and support individuals to achieve their full potential. Daily activities and services reflect choices made by each person, and experiences that are offered, both on-site and off-site, with support. Our Employees are responsible, respectful, and trustworthy. The success of BEACON participants, to a great extent, is due to our employee’s responsiveness, mentoring, and positive influence and attitude.
We provide a variety of residential options in traditional family-style group homes, providing 24-hour employee support and supervision. Each home has its own unique quality reflecting the interests of its residences. RENEW homes are well-run with the safety and well being of its residents a priority. Ordinary and unique care happen within our homes, day services, and community, though often unwitnessed. Independence is recognized, and comfort is provided. Direct care involves patience, empathy, and best practices. Every detail is significant and meaningful. We know this as it happens amongst our team every day.
Services are similar to our Community Day Services Program without walls. Daily activities and services reflect choices made by each person. Companion “one-on-one” services may begin each day at the person’s home or during the Community Day Service program. A support employee meets with the participant and continues with active participation, including various educational, recreational, cultural, or volunteer opportunities.
Employees help prepare participants “who have a desire to work as part of their personal independence” for employment. Individuals engage in job exploration training, and employment skills training. BEACON is dedicated to improving the employment opportunities for people that are differently-abled. With the support of businesses and self-advocacy, we can ensure that everyone who wants to work has the opportunity to obtain and maintain employment. Our programs concentrate on allowing individuals to explore their highest potential of independence. BEACON employees focus on the support, care, and long-lasting positive achievements within our homes and programs as we understand hope, strength, choice, and determination.
